Here Comes The Son

So last week in my Here Comes The Sun post, I told you about the sun that is located at the centre of our solar system. Today I am going to tell you about a much brighter light that has been around much longer than our Sun or anything else on earth or in the universe!

I’m talking about Jesus, or the Son of God! I know that some of you are immediately questioning me and saying, “but, Paul, Jesus was born just over 2000 years ago in Bethlehem!” And while you are technically correct, Jesus in man form was born just over 2000 years ago, you’d also be incorrect, because Jesus was with God at the very beginning and that is very easy to prove!

Firstly in Genesis 1:26 we read: “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air…” So you see in bold the words “us” and “our”. If God was a singularity, then these words would’ve represented that, but God is a Trinity consisting of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit (or Holy Ghost). But it gets better.

In my favourite verse John 1:1 we are actually told that Jesus was there at the very start: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” That’s it, He was there at the beginning with God and He is God! Oh wait, maybe we’re not talking about Jesus here? That is covered too in my next favourite verse, John 1:14: “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

So there we have it, undeniable prove that not only is our God a Trinity, but also that Jesus, one third of the Trinity, was there at the beginning. He gives us life both in the physical sense as He breathed the breath of life into Adam (Genesis 2:7) but also in the fact that we have eternal life through the death of Jesus as told in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me

So while the Sun may give us warmth and light while we reside here on Earth, Jesus provides us with eternal warmth and light both while we are on Earth, and once we leave our mortal bodies behind. The Sun and the stars will pass away, but we will have life eternal when Jesus returns, and that is happening soon.

Matthew 24:34-35 reads, “Verily I say unto you, this generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only” So Jesus tells us that He will be back to fulfill the prophesies, but no one knows when that will happen except for the Father. When Jesus came to earth as a man, He gave up his Godly knowledge and therefore although fully connected to God, some things were still hidden from Him.

But we need to be ready, always, for His return, because if we are not ready, then when He does return it will be too late. There are no second chances once the probation closes upon His return. And as John 14:6 warned no one gets to heaven except through Jesus Christ!

Make the decision today, follow Him, follow His commandments as He told us in John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.” It”s that simple, and He wants you to join Him.

With that said, I’m taking a couple of weeks off from my writing. My wife and I are off to Bible Camp for the next week and I hope to rejuvenate myself and come back a better person. Keep safe and stay close to Jesus.

God Bless
