God’s Gifts – Day 9

Plants

As we learned in yesterdays post, God gave us animals to have dominion over, but more importantly God gave us plants for sustinance.  In fact, before was created, God created plants on the third day.

Genesis 1:11-12:And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yeilding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose see is initself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth frass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, who seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:29: And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

God’s original plan for man was for us to eat His plants and enjoy His animals, but sin entered the world and the plan was corrupted.  We can still enjoy the beauty of God’s creation gift as plants go through their life cycles.

Tomorrow we read about God’s Paintbrush.
