For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. Romans 15:4
As we start the new year and head into 2023 we often look back and wonder what happened. This past year we experienced sadness as we saw the passing of a friend quite suddenly and unexpectedly. We shed tears over her loss, but joy over knowing she went to sleep in Jesus and will be part of His resurrection.
We also experienced joy as we spent time with our family and continued to rebuild broken relationships. Family is important, and while ours is grown up and spread out far and wide, we do get the chance to get together again and spend time together.
My wife and I were able to travel for the first time since I got out of hospital and took a 12 hour drive to visit with our son in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. This was the longest drive I have undertaken since I got sick and while it was very tiring, I did it! The visit was a lot of fun and a great feeling of accomplishment.

Late in 2021 I started a work from home job and continue in that position. In fact over the space of this year my responsibilities were increased quite rapidly as I was trained in many new areas. It was quite daunting to take on so many new tasks so quickly, but I did it and feel that with each call I take I learn something new. I’ve had many interesting calls in the past year and on a few occasions I was even able to share a little of my experiences over the past few years.
One of the biggest joys and accomplishments though this past year has been the number of times I have been able to publicly share my testimony. I have shared my testimony at five churches this year and brought the story to Three Miracles to many people. This story of my recovery is a joy to share and I hope to be able to tell it many more times.
As I look forward into 2023 I see hope and joy ahead and hope for the same for you. I restarted my blog in July of 2022 and at times I have struggled for topics. I am hopeful that I can stay on a regular schedule of posting for 2023.
God bless
