If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;

Praise God! For thousands of years, God has been speaking to us through His prophets, and in the last centuries through His Word, the Bible! But are we listening? Unfortunately not. But we should be because the signs are all there for us to see!
Last summer on the Prairies of Canada, which is in the grain belt, we witnessed one of the driest summers on record. Farmers couldn’t get rain on their crops and the crops suffered badly. It also occurred in Australia as witnessed by the massive fires that burned up millions of acres of brush land, killed untold numbers of wildlife, along with at least 33 people! These droughts were unprecedented in mankind’s history and have caused damage that will take years or even decades to repair.
In East Africa and South Asia they are witnessing a plague of locusts. A single locust can consume their own weight in food daily! And there are billions of them out there feasting on the meager crops that the farmers are able to plant. The risk of starvation by millions is possible!
And now we have pestilence, which is defined as “a fatal epidemic disease, especially bubonic plague“. With the spread of the Corona Virus (COVID-19), we are seeing pestilence spreading around the world. As of this writing (March 28 2020), the number of infections worldwide is over 715,000 with approximately 34,000 deaths! That sounds to me like a fatal epidemic disease!
But God gives us a chance again as He has so many times before and it’s so simple, just listen what He tells us in 2nd Chronicles 7:14, “If my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal the land.” What? That’s all it will take, we must look back to God and once again He will fix things as He did for Noah and his family, and for the Israelites through Moses, and for us through the sacrifice that Jesus did for us. We again must seek that redemption.
The world is retreating into the days of Sodom & Gomorrah, where man is living as man wants to live and not as God wants us to live. As we continue to disobey Him, things get worse and worse, and eventually it will be too late to be redeemed. We are told that the end is coming, but know not when it will arrive. The second coming of Jesus will be like a “thief in the night.” But the signs are there pointing to the second coming.
Now let me express that I do not consider myself a modern day prophet standing on a corner with a sandwich board over my body, but I’m just pointing out what I’m seeing through reading God’s Word and following world events. How long must we wait before we see the end of the world? No one knows that, but the end is nigh.
